Did I.M.P.S. help to influence this in any way? | If anything the vast and numerous scale of machines reminded me that perhaps this wouldn’t be for me. I don’t think I could be trusted, on a day in day out basis, to go into a workplace like the hospital. To start with there was an excitement of getting to visit Hull Royal – not only was it a day off school but it was also a day out! Alongside that it was an informative day, no one can forget the plaster finger. The idea of putting someone into the recovery position seemed like a bit of fun at the time but looking back we were learning crucial skills for future life. |
Have you ever used any I.M.P.S. skills? | I have never been in the situation where I have needed any of the skills learn during the I.M.P.S. visit. |
Does your job require you to use any risk management, injury prevention or first aid skills? | No |
Do you think your I.M.P.S. training has made a difference to you? | I would like to say from the training I am now more careful; when I think about things before doing them! But it is reassuring and nice to know that if a situation were ever to arise then I would, hopefully, be comfortable and know what to do. In the same way, not just personally, but when you see other people doing things, you can identify the risks to them quickly. |
