This year, Child Safety Week takes place from Monday 5th to Sunday 11th June 2017, with the theme Safe children: sharing is caring.
Friends, families, communities and professionals are being asked to show they care by playing their part in keeping children safe and sharing their experience and knowledge – not just about the horrors of accidents, but also the really practical, simple things they do to prevent them.
We all have a part to play in sharing the responsibility for preventing accidents among children, and we know that nothing is more powerful than the voice of experience.
Child Safety Week is run by Child Accident Prevention Trust to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented. They provide a range of resources to help practitioners run local activities and events and promote safety messages in a fun and engaging way.
The 2017 Child Safety Week Action Pack is full of information for parents, activity ideas, hints and tips for a successful event or session and they can be downloaded here.
