When were you in year 6? | 1996 |
What do you do now? | I work as a print room manager for Oxford Medical Illustration at the John Radcliffe Hospital. I remember everyone having little plaster casts on their fingers. |
Have you ever used any I.M.P.S. skills? | A few years after attending the I.M.P.S. day my mum cut her foot quite badly on some glass. As my older brother and I had both attended I.M.P.S. we remained very calm and helped her keep pressure on the cut while we phoned for help. |
Does your job require you to use any risk management, injury prevention or first aid skills? | In a printing environment there is a risk from the high temperature that the machines operate at, as well as sharp blades and heavy boxes of paper. We have a risk management system in place to avoid incidents and at previous companies I have had to administer first aid. |
Do you think your I.M.P.S. training has made a difference to you? | Yes I think it did as we all left knowing what to do if there was an emergency. This took away the fear and panic from emergency situations in later life. |
